Maryse’s Book Blog Obsessed with things that go bump in the night
A blog about reading… paranormal and urban fantasy...
Okay, it’s self-serving since Maryse digs my stuff but really, this woman is hilarious, she loves reading and reading her reviews and her girls’ comments is not a waste of your time. Trust me. I never waste time, time is not something you waste so I wouldn’t steer you wrong.
Now, you can tell when someone loves what they do and clearly Maryse does, not only reading but also blogging.
I have to admit, I do not often read blogs. I have one and I have to admit, I do not often update it. I cannot get inspired to do either. I have not wracked my brain to figure it out; I just don’t get into it. I will say I have run across one or two, no… okay, one, not two… blogs that I enjoy.
Now I’ve run across number two.
I swear, if you read Maryse’s blog, wherever you are will melt away and you’ll feel like you’re in her living room with a glass of wine gabbing about books. Her commentary and reviews are real, they are refreshing and she liberally sprinkles them with quotes from the books which… is… awesome.
Now, I’m a total dork usually but also when it comes to anything technical (you would never believe in a past life I was a network administrator). I’ve looked at Maryse’s blog and tried to figure out how to subscribe. I couldn’t. I’ll have to ask her. But I have added it to my favorites, I managed to figure that out.
But here’s the link: Maryse’s Book Blog
And you can find Maryse on Twitter too: @ItsMaryse
Seriously… join in if it is your gig. You’ll have a blast and may find some books you’d never hear about otherwise and that is always good.
Book Playlists
Recently, one of my Rock Chicks on my Facebook page, Shanta, had an awesome idea and shouted it out. The idea? What songs reminded folks of Kristen Ashley books?
Now, if you read my books, you know that music means a lot to me. Just to name a few, in For You I gave Colt and Feb “Landslide”. In Rock Chick Reckoning I gave Mace and Stella “Black” and “Open Arms”. Music speaks to me and I use it in my writing.
But I gotta say, going through and listening to every, single one of these songs and seeing how spot on my girls were about how my heroes and heroines feel was a moving experience. I had to stop, come back later and finish up because I was crying, feeling my books through my readers and their choices of music.
And obviously, I’ve decided this is a cool thing. So I’m sharing it with you. If you’ve read and enjoy my books, take time to check out this music. It’s worth it.
Note: The person who suggested the song is in italics after the song information.
